This is the first set of ebony and marblewood candlesticks that I turned. The ebony makes a nice accent with the marblewood. Getting the second candlestick to match the first is a challenge and I’m still working on a decent technique to do so. I have been using calipers but even then its a challenge getting the contours to match.
The ebony is glued between the marblewood using superglue. I then apply pressure with some clamps and let it sit overnight. I cut the top at a slight angle with the tablesaw and then finished with some high gloss polyurethane.
