There is a house being remodeled across from the neighborhood where I live. Over the weekend I noticed that they were taking down a tree that was in the front yard.
Wood
I’m not sure what kind of tree it is but it has some really nice silver bark. The heartwood also looks reddish. I’m not sure if that’s only because the wood is green but if not it should make for some interesting pieces.
Hopefully we will be able to get some more wood when they finish cutting down the tree because the base has some very interesting curves.
If you know what kind of tree this was let me know.
edit – We cut some of the wood up and the sap is very sticky and it’s leaking all over the place. We are going to let the wood age awhile but I don’t think it’s usable.
